How we verify
We are an editorial directory. Every place that appears in our index is checked by hand against primary sources before it goes live, and rechecked on a rotating schedule.
Where the data comes from
Inventory is sourced from public data: Google Maps for ratings, hours, photos and recent reviews, and the official property pages for stated pet policies.
Regulatory facts (paperwork, breed law, ferry rules) are sourced exclusively from official EU, Croatian government and carrier publications. We link to the primary source in every guide.
How a place gets listed
A candidate place must have a clearly stated, public pet policy or, in the case of beaches and parks, an officially designated pet area. Hearsay and forum claims are not enough.
We then verify operating status through current Google reviews and, where possible, a direct check with the venue. Places without a verifiable signal are not listed.
Refresh schedule
Each entry is rechecked at least every six months. Seasonal venues (beach bars, ferry crossings, summer-only restaurants) are rechecked at the start of the season.
Where rules change between checks (paperwork, airline policies), the corresponding article is updated and the “verified on” date is bumped.
Corrections
If you spot an error, an outdated policy or a place we should add or remove, write to hello@croatiapetguide.com. Corrections are usually published within a working week.
